About

The Kowie Boardriders Club (KBC) is a democratic body which represents and promotes the collective interests of surfers in Port Alfred.

The KBC seeks to:

• Provide a forum for communication within the surfing community.
• Act as the mouthpiece of the surfing community.
• Advise sponsors, other surfing associations and Ndlambe Municpality on the undertaking of surfing contests and other surfing events at Port Alfred.
• Promote development surfing among the youth of Port Alfred.
• Upgrade and maintain the facilities and environment at the East Beach.
• Hold local events for local surfers such as the “King of the Kowie” contest and social events
• Contribute to activities which promote the well-being of the Port Alfred community ( Assist NSRI, beach clean ups, etc)
